Swing Unlimited Jazz Club

Swing Unlimited Jazz Club was founded in 2010 and has been presenting an eclectic mix of musical styles from a wide range of bands ever since. We’ve featured international jazz artists as well as the cream of UK players and are proud to have given a stage to the best of local talent too.

We’re now at our sixth venue in the history of the club, and it is probably our best. SUJC now takes place, usually fortnightly, at the Bournemouth Electric Club, just off Castle Lane West opposite the Broadway pub. The Electric Club was founded in 1935 as a sports and social club for Southern Electric employees, but is now open to all – you don’t need to be a member to come to SUJC!

SUJC's Current Venue

Retaining its original stage and proscenium arch, but with updated sound and lighting, it’s the perfect intimate listening room for jazz, blues, latin and swing, and all the other wonderful genres of music we’re proud to present. Jazz Club nights at the Electric always feature a varied menu of freshly cooked food, and because it’s a true social club, the bar prices will be a nice surprise. And there’s no parking hassles – plenty of spaces, and it’s free!

We go out of our way to make it a great night for our bands and artists too, and SUJC presenter and host Pat Peiro will always ensure you get a warm welcome on to the stage, and that a space is made for folks to dance if you want.

Doors open 7pm, live music from 8pm, freshly prepared hot food from 7.30pm, bar to 11pm, disabled access and free onsite parking.

Only £6-8 entry (tip-jar donations encouraged if you think the entertainment was worth more than the price of entry, and you can afford it – that goes straight to the musicians!)

Bournemouth Electric Club, Broadway Lane, Charminster, Bournemouth. BH8 0AA.
